今月は、「国際看護師の日」をお祝いしたいと思います。 ご存知のように、国際看護師の日は、近代看護の創始者であるフローレンス・ナイチンゲールの生誕日を記念して、5月12日に世界中で祝われています。
この日は、医療と社会に貢献した看護師たちのケア、思いやり、献身に感謝する日です
2023年のテーマは、「A Voice to Lead」： 私たちの看護師。私たちの未来 “です。
これは、世界中の看護師が、グローバルヘルスの課題に対処し、すべての人のためにグローバルヘルスを改善するために、未来の看護に何を望むかを定めた国際キャンペーンです。 COVID-19のパンデミックは、看護の重要性と、この時期に質の高いケアを提供するために直面する課題を、さらに浮き彫りにしました。 私たちは、パンデミックからの学びを忘れず、それを未来の行動へとつなげていく必要があります。

This month I would like us celebrate International Nurses Day. As we know International Nurses Day
-
is celebrated around the world on the 12 May, to honour the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth,
-
our founder of modern nursing. It is a day to reflect and thank all nurse for their care, compassion and
-
commitment provided to healthcare and society.
The theme for 2023 is, “A Voice to Lead: Our Nurses. Our Future.” This is an international campaign which sets out
what nurse all around the world want for nursing in the future, in order to address the global health challenges and
improve global health for all. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted further the significance of nursing and the
challenges faced in providing quality care at this time. We need to remember our learnings from the pandemic and
translate these into actions of the future.

If you didn’t celebrate this day on the 12 May, do it now, as it is important that nurses collectively take time
to reflect on their care and importance to health care and society.
In finishing, I will leave you with 3 quotes from our founder Florence Nightingale that I find very relevant to
today’s nursing profession and useful to reflect on:
