This month I would like us to think about the important role of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day which is coming up on the 11 October 2025. This year’s theme builds on the 2024 theme holding us all accountable in achieving Universal access to palliative care for everyone across the globe. How do you think you can promote this theme within your own networks?
Some helpful ideas that can be used for promotion of this important day include:
- -Using opportunities to promote patients and families lived experience of palliative care. By utilising their individual expertise, this provides an authentic, powerful and meaningful engagement opportunity for our communities. Writing their story for publication or making a short video. How we support patients and families to assist us in telling their stories is very important. Refer to the second resource below that will provide some ideas on the best way to do this.
- -Utilising the local media to promote the theme and what is occurring at your organisation
- -Using internal opportunities for promotion. For example; having an information stall within your facility
