Julie’s Corner: No.1 OCT/2019
Welcome to the inaugural palliative care update. I am very pleased to be writing a monthly update on palliative care and look forward to your feedback on the type of information you would like to see and how the information sharing has been useful for you. The aim of this update is to create a forum to share our knowledge on palliative care. If you have any particular areas you would like additional information on please forward your request to julie@palliativeeducation.com and we will ensure that this is discussed.
It is fitting to commence this monthly update in the month of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. Knowing where to access information is helpful. For the first update I have listed a number of websites that I find useful. If you have any other favourites that you use please forward these on to me on julie@palliativeeducation.com so that we can share these with everyone.
1. Palliative drugs https://www.palliativedrugs.com/
This international bulletin board was initially set up to facilitate the exchange of information related to drug and symptom control in palliative care however this has been broadening to also include non-drug and service issues. It is a very useful site if you are after a broader perspective with members coming from various countries across the world. You will need to register (for free) to be able to read and pose questions to this site.
2. Care Search https://www.caresearch.com.au/Caresearch/Default.aspx
This is an Australian website
Care Search provides trustworthy information about palliative care for patients, carers and families as well as for the health professionals providing their care. Just as trustworthy information can help patients and families understand what is happening and make decisions, research evidence helps clinicians provide the best possible care.
3. European Journal of Palliative Care http://www.haywardpublishing.co.uk/ejpc.aspx
This journal is no longer is no longer publishing new journals however there is free access to the entire achieve (1994-2018). This opens up a fantastic repository of thought provoking and well evidenced articles from across Europe and beyond.
To access the archive, you will need to choose the year, issue and article from the right hand side of the screen and then register. There are 24 years of global palliative care history in the archive.
4. Advance Care Planning Australia https://www.advancecareplanning.org.au/
This site has separate areas for health professionals and families and patients describing advance care planning and the various opportunities to have these discussions. There are a number of useful resources that can be downloaded as well. Here is also a link to free on line learning that can be done at your own pace.

緩和ケアの薬と症状コントロールに関する情報交換を促進する目的で設立されたサイトですが、それ以外の分野も取り扱うようになっています。

このオーストラリアのサイトは、患者、介護者、家族そして医療者にとって信頼できる緩和ケアに関する情報を提供しています。

欧州緩和ケア学会誌は、現在新刊は発行していません。過去24年間 (1994-2018)の記録が保存され、ホームページの右端から希望する項目、著者名、年数から調べることが出来ます。

事前ケア計画：医療専門家、医療従事者、及び一般市民向けに設計されたプログラムは、家族の中での話し合いの機会についても学べます。また、自分のペースで学べるイー・ラーニングもあります。
注2：上記４つのウェブサイトは、全部、英文ですが、アクセスされますと、最初のページ右上に「このページを翻訳しますか」と表示（プロンプト）がありその中の「翻訳」をクリックすると全ページが日本語の表示に変わります。
