■2009年度アリゾナ大学医学部短期留学助成金 募集要項

当法人では、臨床教育を中心としたアメリカの卒前教育を日本の医学生が体験できるよう、意欲ある学生に助成を行います。下記要項をお読みの上、奮ってご応募下さい。
【留学先】
Department of Cardiology, College of Medicine, University of Arizona
【留学期間】
　2009年7月中旬〜8月中旬
　（夏期休暇中の４週間：詳細な日程は、調整の上後日決定）
【助成人数】
　２名
【応募資格】 　

  1. 留学時に医学部５回生または６回生で海外留学未体験であること
  2. 留学に必要な英語力を有すること
    （TOEFL CBT 230点/iBT 88点以上、TOEIC800点以上、または同等の語学力を有するもの）
  3. アメリカでの臨床研修に目的意識を持って、意欲的に取り組む意思のあること
【助成金額】
　１人20万円（現地での学費・登録料は不要。滞在費、旅費は自己負担）
【応募方法】
　当法人に下記書類を提出してください。
  1. 申請書 :ホームページから申請書（PDFファイル）をダウンロードしてください。
  2. 課題文の提出：和文Ａ４版１枚（40字40行以内）
    　課題「アリゾナ短期留学応募にあたって」
  3. Curriculum Vitae（英文写真付き）
  4. Personal Statement（自己紹介文：英文1,000語以内）
  5. 担当教授の推薦状（英文１通）
  6. TOEFL またはTOEICの成績証明書（コピー）、あるいは英語能力を証明する書面

　※送付された書類は返送いたしません。
【選考方法・発表】
　当法人の「アリゾナ大学短期留学助成選考委員会」により書類選考の上、英語による面接を実施、当法人理事会にて決定します。
　書類選考日：2009年2月28日
　面接日：2009年3月14日
　発表：2009年4月1日当法人ホームページ上で発表

【研修内容】
　４週間にわたりconferenceに参加、ベッドサイドでの診察等の臨床教育を受けていただきます。
　下記に一部を掲載いたしますので、参考にしてください。
Program for Externship at The University of Arizona Department of Medicine Section of Cardiology

1. Students are required to attend the conferences including but not limited to the following:
  • * Cardiac Cath Conference
  • * Pediatric Cardiology/CT Surgery Conference
  • * Peripheral Vascular Conference
  • * UA Sarver Heart Center Conference
2. Students are assigned with Learning Goals including but not limited to the following:
(I) Bedside Examination Objectives
　　Each student should be able to :
  • Demonstrate the skills to accurately take a blood pressure by cuff, assess the jugular venous pressure and pulse, etc.
  • Evaluate the location and contour of the following
    precordial impulses including a nondisplaced apical impulse, inferolaterally displaced apical impulse, etc.
  • Recognize and evaluate the auscultatory events including First heart sound, Second heart sound including types of splitting,
    etc
(II) Cognitive Learning Objectives
  • The student should be able to explain the physiologic significance of the bedside observations listed under (I) and be able to list a reasonable differential diagnosis based on the history and physical examination.
  • Bedside Maneuvers
  • Pharmacology
  • Demonstrate the skills of basic and advanced cardiac life support - including cardioversion and defibrillation.
  • Laboratory Data
  • Coronary Artery Disease
  • Systemic Hypertension
  • Valvular Heart Disease
    etc.
